With the school year coming to a close, many students are looking for jobs or volunteer opportunities to fill up their resumes and summers. In order to help students out, the William T. Cozby public library is hosting a Teen Volunteer fair on May 19.
The fair is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and admission is free. The fair is designed to help students that might need volunteer hours, but students wanting to give back to the community are encouraged to come as well.
Coppell High School junior Gabriela Santana-Prieto decided to attend the fair in order to get ahead on college resumes and applications. She thinks that all students planning on applying to college should attend the fair and see what companies catch their eye.
“People can get hours for college because colleges are more likely to accept students with volunteer hours,” Santana-Prieto said. “Also, it is a fun way to give back to the people of this community.”
