Tonight, May 19, marked the annual Coppell High School Academic Awards Ceremony. Students from all four grades were recognized at the event, which took place at approximately 7 P.M. in the CHS Auditorium.
Students selected to be recognized at this event were hand-picked by their teachers. Each teacher was instructed to choose a particular student in their class that demonstrated academic finesse and great mental acuity to reward at the end of the year. Teachers ranging from subjects such as the cores down to electives and their students were recognized at the event.
In addition to simple recognition by teachers, other awards were also presented. Students in art classes that were selected at the regional VASE Competition were awarded their “gold seals”, as well as other students with artistic commemerations – such as winning the design for the seal of Youth Art Month and having pieces hanging in the Dallas Museum of Art – were. Similarly, band students who excelled in their particular instrument were also recognized for their talent.
Though this ceremony follows a set routine annually, the awards presented at this year’s event recognized feats highly impressive for Coppell students and allowed them recognition for their academic success.
