This past weekend, five members of the girl’s Track and Field team traveled to Austin for the State track meet. One of them came home a champion. Elizabeth Kerpon won the 400 meter dash in a time of 54.19 to claim the state title. Kerpon is the first girl in Coppell High School history to win a state title in track. Her winning time ranks among the top 10 times in the nation.
Coppell had representatives in two other events at the state meet, as well. Haley Cook placed seventh in the pole vault and the 4×400 meter relay team placed eighth.
