The Coppell Cowboys baseball team will be looking to bring out the brooms once again this week as they will face L.D. Bell next in a 3 game series.
After easily sweeping Flower Mound in two games, Coppell coach Don English and L.D. Bell’s manager conducted a coin flip which resulted in the three game format rather then the one game sudden death.
And quite frankly, this set up will assist the Cowboys as they have not fair well in recent years when entering one game rounds. Expecially this team, which thrives of power and hitting as opposed to having that single picther that can win any game for a team. Even the 2009 Coppell club, which was layered with division one prospects, was booted in the first round due to a struggle against a lesser squad’s ace.
Last year’s playoffs, on the other hand, had Coppell bounced in a three game series against South Grand Prairie. Nonetheless, the Cowboys will need to keep up the same performance as last week to move at least one round further than last season.
The first game will be at home at 7 p.m. Thursday, the second at L.D. Bell at 7 pm. Friday and the rubber match (if needed) will be at Grapevine on Saturday.
