This past weekend, HOSA participated in a local autism walk hosted by the Brent Woodall Foundation. This non-profit organization works to increase the awareness of the prevalence of autism in today’s society.
The program is designed to help autistic children by empowering parents with the opportunity to help battle their children’s disabilities; in addition, the foundation fundraises in an effort to aid research for a potential cure for this disorder.
The walk was on Saturday, September 26 at Andy Brown Park with participants from different organizations in Coppell. HOSA was one among many. The club partook in this event because autism is the national focus this year; thus, members would enjoy involvement in the community to promote their interests.
At the walk, raffles were available for those who registered- $10 for kids, $25 for adults. This is part of the approach in gathering money for research of autism.
