Last Wednesday, the Cowgirl soccer team defeated the Denton Guyer Wildcats, 4-0, increasing their district record to 8-1.
The goals were spread out amongst four different players including star forward Chioma Ubogagu, who gained her 14th goal of the season. She only trails Danielle Herubin for the team lead in goals scored this season.
This game, however, was not so much about the players as it was who they brought with them. Each varsity player selected a teacher to attend the game for the first annual Teacher Appreciation night in Cowgirl soccer history. All of the players and teachers were annonced as they walked on to the field before kick-off.
According to all involved, the night was a huge success will undoubtedly be back nest year. And it’s likely the teachers enjoyed it as they all recieved baked goods and treats in the press box during the game.
