This weekend, while most of CHS was spending time with their friends and loved ones, the Coppell Academic Decathlon team was busy taking tests. State competition commences this weekend and lasts through Saturday, after which one lucky team will hoist an abnormally large trophy, and be known as the best team in Texas. Ranked 10th in the state out of 40 teams, Coppell stands as good a chance as any other team to hoist the trophy, but several top teams stand in their way.
J. Frank Dobie High School, currently ranked #1 in the state, is the largest obstacle to Coppell’s chance of hoisting the trophy. In a road filled with obstacles, this is the largest one, and the team to beat. While the odds are long that Coppell can do it, there’s always a chance.
