The Coppell High School choirs competed at the Region XX Solo and Ensemble competition this past weekend and did very well. The competition took place at Townview High School on Saturday and several CHS singers qualified for the state competition in May at the University of Texas.
At the contest, students perform their solos in front of a judge and are scored based on their performance. They are judged on musicality and performance and are awarded a score of one to five, one being superior. If a student receives a I on a class I song, they qualify for the state contest. Students from all levels of the Coppell choir program qualified for state based on their performance on Saturday. Students choose their solo early in the school year and work hard on it for months in preparation for contest, so qualifying for state is a great reward. Congratulations to all of the state qualifiers!
