Winners of their last three regular season contests, the Coppell Cowgirls enter the post season for the first time in 5 years.
Coppell finished 3rd in District 7-5A with a 10-4 record as they fought back during the last weeks of the season, defeating Justin Northwest, Keller Central and Keller. Overall, the squad put together a 22-6 record and are poised to make a potentially deep run in the playoffs.
Last time the Cowgirls made the playoffs, they were bounced in the first round by Colleyville Heritage by a 20 point margin. This year, the team will clash with another tough team- the Plano East Lady Panthers (26-7), who garnered 12 wins and a second place spot in one of the most grueling districts in the area.
If the Cowgirls are able to fend off the potent Lady Panthers, it will be the first playoff win in nearly ten years. The first round matchup will take place at The Colony at 7:00 p.m. tonight, Feb. 15.
