During the Board meeting that was held tonight at the Vonita White Administration Building, there was a discussion held on the future academic calendar for the school district. A Calendar Committee was formed late last year in November to propose revised calendars and includes both parents and staff members.
There are currently two options for the draft of the calendar – both meeting the requirements of the state. Options 1 and 2 have the same start date (Mon., Aug. 22), 177 instructional days, 31 testing dates, seven staff development days and three waiver-approved days. In addition, the lengths of Thanksgiving and Winter Break are one and two weeks, respectively.
However, there are some differences in the proposals regarding the starts and lengths of both semesters and the distribution of student holidays. To view the different options, click here.
