On Sat., Jan. 29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Coppell High School, the Public Service Academy (PSA) will host their first annual Health and Education EXPO. Sponsored by Baylor Medical Center at Irving and Discovery Education, the event is free and requests each visitor to bring a canned food item that will be donated to the CHS food pantry.
The EXPO will feature exhibits including science fair projects, Discovery Education Adventures, face painting, Apache and Chinook Helicopters, the Dallas Zoo and the Coppell Fire Department. It will also provide free health screenings and assessments for cholesterol, glucose, body fat, bone density, sleep apnea, lung function and blood pressure. One can also do a blood lipid test for a small fee.
In addition, Carter Blood Mobile will also be present at the event, inviting guests that want to donate blood to donate. Those who do choose to donate blood will automatically be entered in a raffle for two Super Bowl tickets.
