Upon entering room C221, a vibrant array of common school supplies, such as crayons, notebooks, scissors and pencils, are organized for the Tools for Tomorrow drive by Coppell High School English teacher and Student Council sponsor Benjamin Stroud.
Tools for Tomorrow, based in Palm Desert, Calif., provides after-school literacy programs for children ages 7 to 11.
Sophomore Sohum Mishra reached out to Stroud with hopes of involving Student Council and CHS in the drive. With these collected materials, Tools for Tomorrow can provide more school supplies for students.
Sophomore Sreenidhi Chintalapati is a Student Council member and values the importance of donating school supplies to the Tools for Tomorrow drive.
“It’s crucial that every child can express their creativity in any way that showcases who they are and allows them to grow and thrive to be the best version of themselves,” Chintalapati said.
The Tools for Tomorrow drive started on April 2 and continues through April 30. Stroud hopes to continue collecting more supplies to create a larger impact.
“We are fortunate to be in a school district that can help provide the best for you,” Stroud said “Not all schools are like that, so every little bit of donation helps”
