Cowboys look to tame Tigers in second round

The regional quarterfinals, better known as the second round. 

The Coppell boys soccer team plays Irving at Buddy Echols Field Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Class 6A Division I quarterfinals.

The Tigers enter with only three losses this season. 

“Our guys have the mental toughness to get through anything,” Morris said. “They never give up and they never stop working.”

As Irving comes off a 6-0 victory over Arlington Sam Houston, Coppell looks to match their intense offensive manpower.

“In the past four years, every playoff game we have been to has been a first round exit,” Morris said. “These guys are a special group who can do a lot so we have to continue pushing.”
