The State Fair of Texas welcomes thousands each year to experience its plethora of food options. With classics such as Fletcher’s corny dogs and turkey legs, many come to the fair to try more unique creations. Watch as The Sidekick media editor Rhea Chowdhary, communications manager Sabah Uddin and sports photography editor Kayla Nguyen try three of the various unique foods offered at the fair: the drowning taquitos, cotton candy bacon and Texas sugar rush pickles.

Sabah Uddin is a senior and the communications manager for The Sidekick. Her favorite part of being a student journalist is being able to cover events and meet people she never would’ve known before. Through The Sidekick she has gotten to step out of her comfort zone in discovering sports photography and feature writing.
When she’s not covering an event for The Sidekick or competing with the Coppell High School DECA chapter, you can find her exploring new restaurants and cafes. Her favorite food is Thai food and she is always game for some mango sticky rice.

Kayla Nguyen, Sports Photography Editor
Kayla is a senior and the sports photography editor for The Sidekick. Her favorite part of student journalism is the interesting places it has allowed her to venture to, such as The Star in Frisco and Choctaw Stadium.
She loves music, with some of her favorites being Noah Kahan, Frank Ocean and Phoebe Bridgers. She enjoys trying out new coffee shops with friends, with her favorite drinks being an iced white mocha matcha and a coconut latte. Kayla loves taking photos in and out of The Sidekick, with one of her favorite pastimes being running her digital camera portfolio on Instagram (@kaylasdigicams).
