The Coppell volleyball team plays Flower Mound Marcus on Friday at CHS Arena at 5:30 p.m. The Marauders are 1-5 in district play while the Cowgirls are 4-2.
Coming off of a loss on Tuesday against an undefeated Flower Mound team, Coppell coach Robyn Ross said the team looks to bring momentum back this week, focusing on stronger defense and varying its offensive hits as they prepare to take on Marcus.
“Marcus has several big hitters that we are going to have to contend with in our blocking and defense,” Ross said.
With a significant improvement in district play compared to last year, Ross thinks her predominantly young team has progressed well as playoffs are in the picture.
“This young team, led by their senior setter, [Carolina Ufret] has come a long way since the start of the season and I am very proud of how they are playing in this new district,” Ross said.
