Student e-mail is now up and running.
CISD is no longer using the Netmail system but has switched to Microsoft Outlook Live. In order to activate each student’s account, he or she must change his/her school network password, even if it was changed at the beginning of the year. The rest of the process is fairly simple, and the instructions to set up an account from school can be found here. Accounts can also be set up from home.
With the new Outlook e-mail accounts, students can send documents to and from school, allowing them to work on assignments both at school and at home. It also helps them communicate with their teachers and classmates. The e-mail system has an instant messaging feature, though some students have been unable to access it. In addition, Outlook provides students with all the e-mail addresses of the other students and faculty at CHS. This information can be found by clicking to compose a “new” message and then clicking the “To…” button.
Though the new e-mail service may take some getting used to, students will hopefully come to enjoy the modern features of Microsoft Outlook Live.
