Many people don’t realize how difficult it can be to sit on an animal that is 10 to 15 times your weight while trying to get them to bend, move and keep their head exactly the way you want it- especially when they often have different plans.
This is exactly what many horseback riders spend nearly every weekend doing and with the Hidden Lake Farm Holiday Show Series just around the corner, lots of fun is sure to pursue.
An event called Hunter Jumpers is a main component of the show. Each height division consists of a few over fences classes, and a few flat classes. The winner is the horse and rider pair that work together the best and maintain a consistent frame with good speed transitions and gaits. It might sound simple, but it takes so much coordination from both horse and rider.
The October show is on the 30 through the 31, with the Thanksgiving show following on Nov. 20-21and the Christmas show on Dec. 4-5.
