According to American Cancer Society there are 207,090 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed each year, 1 in 4 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and 39,840 woman will die of breast cancer this year.
Breast cancer is a terrible disease that affects countless individuals and their families. October has been chosen as the national breast cancer awareness month.
All throughout the month people join together to make woman more aware of the dangers and devastation of breast cancer. Organizations such as Susan G Komen for the Cure and BCAM urge woman to perform self check ups and to go to their doctor at any suspicious sign.
Along with raising awarness October is the month for
people to donate money to fund research to find a cure. Once more people lend a helping hand breast cancer can be defeated.
Breast cancer has been a very devastating thing for many and October is the time to remember those who lost their battle and to try help fight the disease.
