Got You Covered is a Sidekick series detailing events involving Coppell High School and Coppell ISD happening this week. It will be posted every Monday for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
  • Curriculum Night is today from 5:30-7:15 p.m. at Coppell High School. Parents will follow a schedule with eight-minute class periods and six-minute passing periods.
  • Today, Coppell ISD Board of Trustees meets at 6 p.m. in the board room of the Vonita White Administration Building. 
  • On Tuesday, Coppell City Council meets for a work session at 6 p.m. at Life Safety Park.
  • On Friday, a Club Expo will be held at CHS during all lunches. 
  • On Friday, Coppell Speech and Debate will compete at its first official tournament, Melissa Argyle Swing, at Melissa High School. The tournament will end on Saturday.

Pinkerton Elementary School Principal Amanda Sweeny accepts a proclamation for Pinkerton from the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees. Monday’s Coppell ISD Board of Trustees meeting in the Vonita White Administration Building included a Pinkerton Elementary School proclamation, recognition of the Coppell girls soccer team’s state championship, budgeting and New Tech High @ Coppell’s remodeling plans.

Sahasra Chakilam is a senior and the executive news editor of The Sidekick. She joined The Sidekick after watching “Gilmore Girls” and being inspired by Rory Gilmore’s work ethic and passion for journalism. Through the program, she has been able to develop a love for storytelling and connect with her community on a deeper level through reporting.  Outside of The Sidekick, she enjoys consuming all sorts of media. Her favorite music genres are R&B and indie pop, she has rewatched Crazy Rich Asians and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days maybe 15 times and cannot ever pass on a 2000s teen drama.

Avani Munji is a senior and the executive design editor for The Sidekick. Munji joined the program unintentionally, but found that The Sidekick was the perfect place for her to grow as a designer. When she’s not creating a design or trying to learn everything there is to know about Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, you can find her playing various videogames on her Xbox and mourning the loss of her 2008 Wii.
