After a tough loss last week to Flower Mound, the Coppell softball team bounced back defeating Plano, 4-0, on Tuesday night at Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex.

“The girls came out with a lot of energy and the will to win, and they did whatever it took to get that win tonight,” Coppell coach Kimberly LeComte said.

The game was quickly in the Cowgirls favor as the first inning ended with 2-0, with runs scored by sophomore infielder Natalie Howell and junior infielder Mallory Moore.

“Today I wasn’t in my head like the past games we’ve had this season, and because of that I felt confident enough in my performance that we got a victory today,” Howell said.

The Cowgirls’ lead in the fourth inning after Coppell senior outfielder Sabina Frosk scored, increasing the lead to 3-0. Soon after, sophomore Kimber Kerrigan scored, extending the Cowgirls’ lead to 4-0, against the Wildcats.

“We all put our hearts on the line,” Frosk said. “We all fought until the end and we’ll definitely carry this energy through the next district games.”

The Cowgirls play at Plano West on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
