The Indie Author Fair is at Cozby Library and Community Commons on Saturday from 1-4 p.m to celebrate Indie Author Day.

This event gathers local indie authors, writers and readers together for a day to collaborate and connect in a supportive atmosphere.

Cozby Library and Community Commons librarian Jennifer Franz described the event as a way to highlight local independent authors and allow them to get publicity for their book.

“The best part is seeing the authors connect with each other and [also making] new connections,”  Franz said. “It benefits the community by showing aspiring authors that they can do it too.””

Readers will be able to stop by authors’ tables and get a chance to meet with them to discuss fresh literary insights that can help enhance the authors’ writing. Authors will also have copies of their books available for readers to purchase. Indie Author Fair allows for authors to promote their work and also connect with members of the local community.

“The inspiration was a way to help local authors. I’m most excited about seeing them meet new readers,”  Franz said.
