Coppell cross country looks to take advantage of its home course at tomorrow’s Coppell Invitational at CMS West.

“It’s going to be a hard course so I’m expecting some discomfort but overall it will be fun,” senior Andrew Mullen said. “I’m elated about having this meet in Coppell since I can represent our team on our own course.”

The women’s varsity 5,000 meter race will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the men’s varsity 5,000 meter following shortly after at 8 a.m. The meet will follow a rolling schedule, with women’s JV 5,000 running at 8:30 followed by men’s JV 5,000 at 9:00. The last events will be girl’s 3,200 meters middle school at 9:30 a.m and 3,200 middle school boys at 10:00 a.m.

Spectators can enter the parking lot at Ranch Trail and Hackberry Lane. Parking is available at Cypress Waters; however, parking garages are off limits to all meet parking.

“I’m looking forward to [winning] and [competing] against some of the top teams in the state,” senior Karthi Parthipan said. “This year my goal is to break 16 minutes in the 5k and go to state as an individual and as a team, and I’m expecting to see a lot of good competition for the meet.”
