After an initial loss of 52-39 against Hebron, Coppell plays Hebron again tomorrow at the CHS Arena with tipoff at 6:30 p.m.

“We lost to them during the first round of district because a couple players were injured and that was really frustrating,” Coppell senior guard Emma Sherrer said. “We’re excited to finally get a fair shot at them with everyone healthy and able to play.”

According to Sherrer, Hebron tends to play fast. So tomorrow, the Cowgirls plan to play at their own pace.

“The main focus of tomorrow will be to slow the game down and not letting Hebron rush us,” Sherrer said. “We’ll also probably be standing back on defense, whereas for other schools we might pressure more. That way they’ll have less opportunities to get to the basket.”

Though the Hawks may have defeated the Cowgirls before, they feel confident that they have a fair shot.

“First round was a little rough, and we only one won game,” Sherrer said. “But so far we’re 2-1 for the second round, so we’re feeling confident going into the next round.”
