After defeating Richland, 61-40, on Tuesday, the Coppell girls basketball team faces Colleyville Heritage tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS Arena in its last game before District 6-6A play begins.

“It’s the game where we look at what we want to be really good at before going into the Plano game on Dec. 8,” Coppell coach Ryan Murphy said. “We need to be better in transition, offensively and especially defensively, and we need to do a better job on our half-court defense as well.”

After a recent two-week quarantine, the team is working on building back its morale, having more quality practices and getting back in shape.

“Coming out of quarantine, we’ve played five games with two real practices, and everything else was pregame shoot arounds,” Murphy said. “It’ll be really good to actually practice and really focus on us and things we need to do. The quarantine took away a little bit of our conditioning, so we’re just trying to get back in shape. We’re all finally healthy, so that’s encouraging.”
