The 2010 MLB season is only a week old, but that has been sufficient time for a quite a bit to happen.
Roy Halladay has excelled in two starts thus far for his new team, the Phillies. People questioned why Philadelphia would trade their ace, Cliff Lee, along with prospects to aquire another ace in Halladay. Two dominating wins later, Halladay has shown that the trade might not be as unreasonable as thought.
Curtis Granderson, the second biggest star traded this winter, has also gotten off to a fast start with his new team, the Yankees. He has flashed superb defense along with deft hitting, and he has already hit a game winning home run against the rival Red Sox.
On a darker note, the Astros have looked abysmal this season after a decent season in 2009. They are baseball’s only winless team through one week, having been swept by both the Phillies and Giants, and their offense and pitching staff have both looked suspect this far.
While one week is hardly enough time to project how a full, 162 game season will end up, opening week in baseball provided a number of interesting story lines for the fans.
