After defeating Irving MacArthur last Tuesday, the Coppell tennis team is ready to take on Hebron on Tuesday at the CHS Tennis Center at 4 p.m.

While Hebron has not defeated Coppell since Coppell coach Richard Foster has been head coach since 2013, they have come close.

“They put the fear in us a few times,” Foster said. “Last year was one of those times – we beat them – but they came ready to play.”

Even though Coppell has a strong track record against Hebron, it is unknown how Hebron’s players will perform on the day of the tournament.

“I’ve heard other coaches just talking about his [Hebron head coach CJ Cowgill] young players that he has and that’s always an unknown.” Foster said. “He’s got some young players that I think are really gonna be scary.”

While there are uncertainties when it comes to the tournament, Coppell players such as CHS junior Rishita Uppuluri are confident with their strong lineup.

“I am excited to play on the team again, we have just started our season,” Uppuluri said. “I feel like we are already coming together as a family. We are cheering each other more and each time our cheers get better.”
