As the school year is underway, the annual Coppell High School Open House serves to familiarize parents with teachers, administrators and the courses their children take. This year, Open House is at CHS tonight from 6-8 pm.

Open House introduces a platform for teachers to inform parents about students’ coursework, syllabus and policies. It also allows parents to get to know teachers and their background. Additionally, parents are able to talk to administrators to learn more about new policy changes, such as Friday Night Live and the new cell phone use policy.

“The parents and teachers are partners in raising these kids,” AP statistics teacher Lowell Johnson said. “I want to develop a relationship with these parents so they feel free to contact me and I feel free to contact them. I want to emphasize to parents that I love what I do and that statistics is amazing and useful and will help their kids succeed.

Open House will give parents insight as to what it is like to be a student at CHS by traveling from class to class. Parents will follow their student’s C Day schedule and attend each class for 10 minutes.
