Coppell High School junior Gwyn Bonacci has been drawing for nearly eight years. Although Bonacci is mostly interested in 2D art, she is currently learning 3D modeling on the computer and loves bringing animation to life.

Bonacci is in Coppell High School fine arts teacher Cameron Tiede’s AP 2D and 3D class where they have to put together a concentration, or a theme, to the pieces to bring them all together.

One of my pieces was on plexiglass. You paint it on the back then you flip it over and that’s the rest of your painting,” Bonacci said. “So you have to paint on the glass in different directions. We have submit them to College Board and they will give you a grade, depending how the art goes together verses how they will separately. There are multiple different [categories] like 3D, 2D and drawing. 2D…is an all-year class where you try and get a piece done every 10 days or so. You have to have 12 of each and you have to stick with the theme. May 11 is when you submit [everything].”
