Coppell High School sophomore Daphnie Tian has participated in all school art classes since kindergarten. Her brother, Allan, is one of her biggest inspirations, as he is interested in art as well. This painting, entitled “Despair”, was created using gouache, micron pen and watercolor.

“The hand in the foreground was made with cut out magazine papers and painted on gouache, cut out and outlined into the shape of the hand, and the background is painted with watercolors,” Tian said.
