New Life Safety Park to host Grand Opening in Old Town
The vision to provide for the health, safety and quality of life of fellow citizens of Coppell has been created with the newly facilitated Coppell Life Safety Park.
This park includes a controlled and safe learning environment and hands-on learning experiences to teach safety procedures to children of all ages. It provides lessons on life safety procedures such as fire safety, severe weather response, pedestrian caution and more.
According to its webpage, the facility incorporates a museum, community room and classrooms to make the atmosphere a fun, innovative and interactive learning experience for all residents and their children.
The Coppell Life Safety Park’s concept supports all five strategies listed within the Coppell 2030 Vision Plan which was determined through City Council meetings.
“The Park is a multi-use facility that serves many community functions and furthers the City’s goals of supporting quality education in Coppell,” Mayor Karen Hunt said. “One of the most important features of Life Safety Park is that it houses the City’s Emergency Operations Center, which is the hub for critical personnel and activity during emergency response situations.”
According to the City of Coppell website, the park includes three indoor classrooms that can each hold 30 students and an outdoor safety town that uses architectural features similar to those in Coppell.
The city encourages all residents to join the Grand Opening celebration of the Coppell Life Safety Park on Saturday, Jan. 28. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a facility tour and performances by the Coppell Fire Department.
