Get ready to have goosebumps
October 21, 2015
DALLAS – Many have heard of the suspenseful comedy serie Goosebumps by R.L. Stines. With an
astounding 62 sequels, Stine created a greatly popular series.
Through the prominence of Goosebumps, readers had high expectations for the featured film. I being one of them.
Amidst, Stine being known for his twist and turns, director Rob Letterman too, keeps the suspense going. From an Abominable Snowman to a giant praying mantis, Letterman does not fail. Throughout the movie you forget Stine is not the one directing the film, however, another person can conduct the art of mimicking ones vivid writing, and succeed.
You do not see Jack Black doing many serious roles despite his allure to acting. Nonetheless, Goosebumps seems to attract new challenges for Black, seeking the role of Stine, a monotonous character or what seems monotonous…
We have all been subjected to one of those convincing commercials about special effects, trying to sell you on the idea. Well, Goosebumps definitely does not need to sell you because it goes over the top with special effects. Feeling as if you are there, even from the farthest seat.
If you are one to love suspenseful comedies, this is the movie for you. Undoubtedly, this film will keep you on the edge of your seat, and hopelessly anticipating for a sequel.
