Wednesday, January 13th marked the first day of semester exams of the 2009-10 school year. To make school life easier for students, the CHS library has decided to keep its doors open later during exam nights, as late as 8 o’ clock.
In addition to the plethora of resources the library offers as study tools, CHS’s library has been offering hot chocolate beverages to students who spend their evenings at the high school to study.
The library really is the perfect place to study for exams, as there is little distraction and much plush, comfortable seating. The thousands of books the library has serve as great review tools as well as a way to take a break from studying, and of course the library has computers to access online library resources as well as search engines for a quick answer to any review question. But if planning on print review material from Blackboard, bring some change -prints are ten cents a page.
Studying at the school library also allows those forgetful students to run to their locker after realizing late into the evening that an imperative piece of review material has been left out of the backpack.
Last, but definetly not least, the CHS library is a rather quiet place to study, especially compared to the public library or, if your family is anything like mine, at home. Although the school library is not crowded during exam week, you are assured to be surrounded by only familiar faces and ready-to-help librarians.
