One key player was starting senior goalie Robbie Coen, who was able to keep Colleyville Heritage from scoring multiple times.
“It was great. I made a few saves here and there, I also messed up a couple times,” Coen said. “But honestly all of my credit has to go to my defensive backs for making sure Colleyville Heritage didn’t get chances to score.”
Other key players include senior forward Colten Clark, who had a couple key passes and scored the last goal of the game, and senior midfielder Roberto Argüello who scored the first and second goal of the game. The defensive backs also played a key role in the game, keeping Colleyville Heritage from scoring a single goal.
“The guys performed really well. The effort and intensity all night long was there, it was constant, and we played really really well,” Coppell High School soccer coach Rickshaw said. “We got the ball on the ground, were able to create many, many chances and we limited them to a couple set pieces which were dangerous to us, but other than that really really proud of their performance.”
Now the Coppell soccer team is focused on its next game against Haltom, and keeping its win streak going.
“We play Haltom next, and I haven’t really played against them before or heard about them, so I don’t know how they are going to be,” Clark said. “But we are just going to come prepared, and play to the best of our ability we can win.”
