Ohio State and Oregon both took the field Friday in the Rose Bowl with something to prove, the Buckeyes looking to restore the creditability of the Big Ten conference, namely themselves, in BCS bowl games while the Ducks are trying to become among the nation’s elite. Ohio State showed their worth in dominating fashion, winning 26-17.
Terrelle Pryor put his imprints all over this game, throwing in the pocket, out of the pocket and scrambling for chucks of yardage. He led Ohio State in rushing with 72 yards on 20 carries.
The Buckeye defense also deserves much credit as well, slowing down an Oregon offense that features speedsters Jeremiah Masoli at quarterback and LaMichael James at running back, one of the fiercest rushing tandems in all of college football.
To show just how dominant the Ohio State defense was, Oregon only held possession of the football for 18 minutes of the game, to the Buckeyes 41.
