By this time next week I will no longer be able to log into www.coppellstudentmedia.com. Out of all the things I have to leave behind The Sidekick is the hardest. Room D115 and adviser Chase Wofford have been a constant fixture in my high school life and there are no perfect words to describe how thankful I am for this experience.
When I came into D115 as a freshman I had no idea how important this room would become to me. It is the place I look forward to coming to the most in the school day. It is where I met one of my best friends and it is where I learned some of my biggest life lessons. I’ve laughed endlessly and cried some in this room.
Some of my biggest accomplishments happened in this room and some of the failures that built me up the most happened in this room.
When I joined The Sidekick as a sophomore I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. It was Mr. Wofford who introduced me to my “thing”, my passion. The media industry is where I want to make my career and I’m going off to Baylor University with a wealth of knowledge and experience, courtesy of Mr. Wofford.
In a time where no one trusted me to be an adult, Mr. Wofford did. He was the first to congratulate me on my successes and the first to reassure me after my not-so-successes. He allowed me to make mistakes and grow as a person, but he always made sure I knew everything was going to be okay. I will never be able to express how thankful I am for him but without him in my life I would not be the person I am today.
I am honored and proud to have served on the staff of The Sidekick for three great years. I will be heading off to Baylor University in the fall, majoring in Communication Studies, with the hopes of a career in the media field.
I also intend to continue writing with the Baylor Lariat. Thank you Coppell Student Media and The Sidekick for the best thing to ever happen in my high school life. I will always be back to visit and I cannot wait to be a new subscriber and reader
