Tune into E!’s Grammy countdown show this Sunday at 4 p.m., and you might just see international pop star Miley Cyrus. However, if you look close enough, it might just be Coppell High School senior Jill Fisher. Fisher flew out to Los Angeles this afternoon for the incredibly unique opportunity of a Miley makeover, and I talked with her about some of the details.
Q: What will you doing this weekend in Los Angeles?
A: E! is doing a two hour countdown show to the Grammys on Jan. 26. The two hour countdown show is a makeover segment, called “Good Girls, Gone Bad!” Three girls volunteered to be transformed into a celebrity look alike. One girl is going to be transformed into Rihanna, the other Christina Aguilera, and me as Miley Cyrus.
Q: How did you get this opportunity?
A: My older sister, Megan, lives in Los Angeles, and she has a friend, Catherine, that works for E! One day Catherine posted a Facebook status asking if anyone was interested in cutting their hair for a celebrity look alike segment for the E! countdown show. I got in contact with Catherine and told her that I was interested because I’ve always wanted to cut my hair, and if it was for national tv then why the heck not?
Q: Who all is going out there with you?
A: [Coppell High School senior] Regan Sullivan is going with me because she was the first one that I told about this event. Also, she is going with me for support during the transformation. We are meeting my sister there and staying with her.
Q: Do you have to buy the clothes and do you own makeup and hair or is that provided?
A: It starts on the Red Carpet, and they will introduce me as one of the volunteers for this segment. I will be wearing my own outfit and makeup for that part so that I have a natural, normal girl look so that the transformation will be more dramatic.
Q: What part of this are you most looking forward to?
A: The part that I am most looking forward to is when they start cutting my hair. I’ve always wanted this pixie hairstyle, and this is just a crazy opportunity to actually cut it.
Q: Are you nervous or excited for this opportunity? How are you feeling about it?
A: It’s weird, I am usually a really nervous person, but for this opportunity I am really excited! I’ve been trying not to think about it too much because I don’t want to freak myself out.
Q: Are you a big Miley Cyrus fan?
A: I like Miley Cyrus because of her music. Her music videos are crazy, but I like that she doesn’t care about what the media is saying about her. She’s really carefree and that’s what I like the most about her.
Q: Do you plan on doing anything else fun while you’re in California?
A: I’m excited to finally be at the beach! It has been pretty chilly here in Texas, and I’m really looking forward to the sunshine and 80 degree weather.
