While one popular intramural sport, Ultimate Frisbee, came to its conclusion last week, another one made its season debut.
The first games of the six on six dodgeball season took place on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the gym at New Tech High in Coppell. Nine teams competed in what is the first week of a three-week season. Playoffs will be held on Dec. 17 for qualifying teams.
This is the second year that CHS has offered dodgeball as intramural sport for its students, though last year it was held in the spring. The morning announcements at the high school, as well as constant reminders by the faculty at lunch, urged students to form teams for nearly two weeks.
Teams play three games each night for of the two weeks and two games on week. Every team will play each other once, and the teams with the best records will be seeded accordingly for the playoffs next month.
The winning team will get an intramural champion t-shirt and the glory of winning leading the CHS dodgeball pact.
There will be no dodge ball during the week of Nov. 23, as students will be off for break. The fun is scheduled to resume on Thursday, Dec. 3rd at New Tech High School.
