Though they come from a prep school in Addison, do not expect the Greenhill Lady Hornets to play nice when they travel to play the Coppell Cowgirls (3-4) on Tuesday night.
With an undefeated record on the line (3-0 so far this season), which may stay intact if the Lady Hornets can defeat the Cowgirls on Tuesday night at Coppell Middle School West at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Hornets have seven senior leaders on their 15-girl roster. This means that, with sophomore Emily Fine leading a young core, they are always tough to play.
Coppell senior captain Natalie Oden and the Cowgirls look to bounce back after an 11-8 loss to the Episcopal School of Dallas before spring break. This loss for Coppell came on the heels of a 21-4 defeat of the McKinney Lady Lions.
Both Oden and fellow senior midfielder Sarah Levin were named Academic All-Americans by the U.S. Lacrosse Association before the break, and they certainly have lived up to the All-American moniker on the field as well.
Greenhill head coach Caroline Doswell has quite an extensive background in both playing and coaching the game of lacrosse. In her second season as the head coach for the Lady Hornets, Doswell has risen above expectations.
After leading her program to eight victories last season, she also produced two All-Southwest Preparatory Conference award winners in Cyerra Holmes, who now attends Stanford University, and Samantha Fine, a member of the womens field hockey team at Tufts University .
