Coppell Middle School West Principal Vernon Edin has announced his plans to retire after 27 years of working as a principal in the district.
In 1994, West became the first school in the district to be named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. From 1996-2006, Edin held the title of Mentor Principal, as established by the Texas Education Agency.
Edin plans to remain involved in the Coppell community after his retirement.
