Dangling lights, photographs, quotes and posters define the infamous “Tumblrroom.” Getting a space this style-savvy may appear complicated, but it can be easily achieved by sticking to the basics behind it.

A Tumblrroom is what every Tumblr girl, or blogger, dreams of her bedroom looking like. It typically consists of lots of lighting and creative ways of displaying one’s personality.

What you need and how to use them:

1) Magazines

Bring that boring bedroom wall to life. With a pair of scissors and full-size magazines, cutting up letters to form quotes and sayings on a bedroom wall in a creative fashion is a cinch.

2) Lights

Out with the old, in with the new. Repurpose those Christmas lights from the holiday season to lights you can stream along your window, mirror, dresser or wall around your quotes and sayings.

3) Photos and posters

Got some memories on camera? Print them out and display them in a collage along a wall of your room and mix in some posters of your favorite celebs to give your room creative appeal.

4) Construction paper

Designs, designs, designs. Cut up some pieces of construction paper to form any kind of design such as birds, hearts, peace sings, anything to display.

5) Sticky notes/post-it notes/notepad notes

Got quotes? Write as many as necessary and create a design with them such as a heart or infinity sign, or mix them into your collage of posters and photos for even more creative appeal.

6) Blankets and pillows

Not only does adding various styles, designs, and colors of pillows and blankets to your bed make it more comfortable, but it also adds bursts of color, creativity and cuteness.

Although your room may not come out as an exact replica of a “Tumblrroom” by including these basic items, any bedroom will come close and an original copy of a Tumblrroom.
