Coach Julie Green has been involved with Volleyball since her middle school days. However, her true passion started after college. From that, her very technical point of view was created.
Throughout high school, she played nearly every sport. When she attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, she played both Basketball and Volleyball. Once she graduated, Green travelled to Lulling High School for one year as the junior varsity coach.
Soon after, she was the Springtown junior varsity coach for a year. There, she was under head Coach Cari Lowery. Green credits Lowery in giving her the “best foundation” for coaching.
Green moved to Azle High School to be the freshman coach and then was promoted to head coach. After those four years, she was the Stephenville freshman coach for two years.
The next three seasons at Lake Travis were very successful. The Lady Cavaliers were Regional Finalists the first year under Green. The next two years the team went to the State tournament, and the last year was rewarded with a State Championship.
Last year, Green came to Coppell High school as the girls’ athletic coordinator and head Volleyball coach. In her first year, she was awarded ESPN’s Volleyball coach of the year and won the girl’s 5-A State Volleyball championship for the first time in Coppell history.
This year, she continued the tradition and brought home the Cowgirls’ second state championship title.
