Coppell is a tight-knit community that has always proven to be like a family to its citizens. Similar to family, almost everyone within Coppell are friends and are there for each other in times of trouble as well as times of celebration. And, like family, Coppell has its own traditions and trademarks such as Kid’s Kountry, the Christmas parade the 4th of July celebration and many more. One of the most popular traditions of the community is “Hometown Hero.”
This tradition is actually very new to Coppell since it was only established three years by the high school’s Public Service Academy. Last year, Todd Storch, the founder of Taylor’s Gift was awarded Coppell’s Hometown Hero for 2012 and in 2011, Coppell Middle School East principal Laura Springer took the prize.
This year the nominees are Dr. Swaldi, Dr. Fernandez and the new Kid Kountry coordinators; Ed Guidnon, Jack Clark and Niel Bates.
The winner will be announced on Friday, January 25th so make sure to find out who is Coppell’s Hometown Hero for 2013!
