The Coppell Cowgirls volleyball team plays Denton Ryan tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Coppell High School. The Cowgirls have a district record of 7-1 while Denton Ryan has a district record of 0-8.
Tonight is volleyball’s annual senior night where all graduating seniors are recognized for their success in the sport throughout their years in high school. Signs were decorated, flowers will be given and speeches will be made to give the four graduating girls a special last game on their home court.
“It’s really bitter-sweet playing my last home game,” senior right side hitter Erica Bohannon said. “I’m excited to go explore college and experience all the amazing things there, but at the same time I’m really going to miss this school and playing with all my teammates.”
It’s nothing but sad for the underclassmen when they think about seeing their senior teammates leave for college.
“They’re all so talented,” junior middle blocker Mary-Kate Marshall sad. “Not having them on the team next year is going to hurt all of us because they’ve been such a big part of the program for as long as we’ve been here.”
Stay strong Coppell.
