As the NHL Playoffs develop into their near completed state, I cannot help but feel sadness and anger as a Dallas Stars fan.
The Stars found themselves two wins away from the playoffs with four games left in the regular season, and somehow managed to lose all four. Not only did this failure crush my spirits for the fourth straight year, but the (regular season irrelevant) Kings added insult to injury by wrapping up the eighth seed. They moved past the presidents cup winners in Vancouver, swept Hitchcock’s blues, and now find themselves up two to nothing on both of our division rivals, the Coyotes. This should have been the Stars. We had what it took to be in this situation. We are just as good if not better than these Kings, but we can’t close out a season to save our lives. Over the summer, Gallaradi has some work to do, some players to sign, and some attitudes to change. The Stars should be a contender, and it is time to stop making excuses and get out there and win.
