Tomorrow morning, the students of Ms. Binder’s Earth, Space and Science class will begin their journey to the Enchanted Rock camp ground. The trip was offered to all the seniors in the ESS class as an end of the year celebration. Students will enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, bird watching and numerous other outdoor activities. Last year the trip lived up to the hype of being an exciting getaway from home; this year looks to be no different.
Enchanted Rock is located in Fredericksburg, Texas and is said to be over one billion years old. The actual rock is a mass hunk of granite and is great for climbing, hiking and adventuring into the various caves and crevices. Many indian tribes have noted mysterious and magical powers attributing from the rock, this is where it gets the name “enchanted.”
Students attending the trip will be camping outdoors Friday and Saturday and returning Sunday afternoon. As an attendant I am extremely excited to climb the summit and to experience a real camping experience.
