This past weekend the members of the Coppell High School Ultimate Frisbee team travelled down to Round Rock to play for the State Championship of Texas.
On Friday the team travelled down to play in a 20 team field with 4 pools of 5 teams. The Cowboys pool was one of the tougher amongst the groups because the Cowboys had to play against many highly ranked teams including the number one ranked McCollum High School. Although the Cowboys had to play these potent teams they ended up moving onto the semi finals on Sunday in a sudden death game against Katy High School.
On Sunday, the Cowboys finally met there match in the quarter- final game when they got behind early. After a momentous effort to win the previous day the Cowboys just didn’t have enough left to pull out another upset. The Cowboys were ranked 5th at he end of the tournament moving up from their original ranking of 16th. The team will resume play this coming fall for the 2012- 2013 season.
