Coppell lacrosse finished out the last week of the season strong earning a playoff birth while knocking two high schools out of contention.
On Thursday the Cowboys faced off against school rival Southlake, pulling out the 10-6 win over the Dragons.
Southlake managed to get the first goal in less than a minute into the game but the Coppell defense held them down scoreless for the rest of the half going on a 6-1 run.
Defense was a big key in the game and the Cowboys played well holding the Dragons to just five shots on target.
The offense controlled possession for most of the game getting over ten shots on frame and making Southlake play at the pace they set.
Coppell is advancing to playoffs next week where they will start with a home game against either Plano, Plano West, or Highland Park.
