Football playoffs are entering their final two weeks and the Dallas area is once again well represented with a chance to play in both the Division I and II state title games.
In Division I, two area powerhouses, Southlake Carroll and Dallas Skyline meet at SMU’s Ford stadium in the only battle between unbeaten teams. Both teams are heavy offense and this game should be a shootout.
This game will most likely go down to the wire, as both teams are almost identical with a mobile junior quarterback and two star receivers. I give Skyline the edge with a very high scoring offense that has at least 30 points a game and a defense that has shutout five teams and left four teams with less than ten points on the board.
In Division II, Mansfield Timberview will take on Spring Dekaney looking to honor their fallen offensive coordinator who died late in the season of a heart attack. If the Timberview defense can come out with some inspired play they will have a chance in this game but they’re going to have their hands full stopping Texas A&M commit Trey Williams. Williams has well over 3,000 yards on the season and almost 40 touchdowns.
Next weekend will be the state finals at Cowboys Stadium so get out there for the first weekend of break supporting you’re area teams for state title.
