Spirit day for GSA

By Kelly Stewart

Opinions Editor

Tomorrow, CHS might be seeing more purple in the hallways than usual.

The GSA is having its first event, a ‘Spirit Day’ for all LGBT students and everyone who supports them, a chance to show their pride for who they are by wearing purple on Thursday. Spirit Day was started in 2010 by teenager Brittany McMillan in response to all of the LGBT students who had taken their lives because of harassment from their peers.

Normally, Spirit Day is celebrated on Oct. 20, but because of difficulties with GSA club startup, the day was missed and will be honored tomorrow. So if you want to support the GSA club and LGBT teens everywhere, wear purple tomorrow!
