Coming off a series sweep of Flower Mound last weekend, the Coppell Cowboys baseball team begins their second round series tonight against L.D. Bell with hopes of opening a 1-0 series lead.
The series was slated to begin last night in Coppell, but rain from the previous night left the field too wet to play on. The Cowboys will instead host game two at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and game three (if necessary) thirty minutes after the second game ends.
The Cowboys will look to replicate their first round success in this series, as they won by scores of 9-2 and 12-0 in their two games against Flower Mound. The pitching was especially effective, as sophomore Jake Elliot and junior Conner Foltyn each pitched complete games in their first round starts.
Tonight’s game is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. tonight at L.D. Bell.
